Dr. Jeffrey Crelinsten is President of The Impact Group, a private consulting firm specializing in science and technology policy, education and communications, and President of Research Infosource Inc., Canada's leading provider of research intelligence for business and higher education, including Canada's Top 100 Corporate R&D Spenders and Canada's Top 50 Research Universities lists. Jeffrey is also co-publisher of RE$EARCH MONEY, Canada's newsletter on R&D funding. He recently completed a series of studies in collaboration with Dr. H. Douglas Barber on R&D-intensive firms in Canada and changing skills requirements in Canada's knowledge-based industries. Jeffrey and Doug have most recently been interviewing former CEOs and investors in tech firms that no longer exist to explore why firms disappear either through business failure or early acquisition. Jeffrey also specializes in science and technology communications, outreach and education. He is a founding Director of the Science and Technology Awareness Network (STAN), a past President of the Canadian Science Writers Association and was a member of the Board of the Youth Science Foundation of Canada for six years. Jeffrey has a B.Sc. in physics, an M.Sc. in astronomy and a Ph.D. in history of science and science policy. His most recent book, "Einstein's Jury: The Race to Test Relativity", examines the early reception of Einstein's theory by the astronomy community.
