Moderator: Key Practices in International Commercialization
Current research investigates technology foresight, technology intelligence and exemplary practices toward the commercialization of research results. Guild is the Founding Director of the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Innovation Research. He is appointed as Professor in the Department of Management Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and he some teaches in the Conrad Centre for Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology. He twice held industrial research chairs in Management of Technological Innovation and Change, funded jointly by NSERC and SSHRC, with industrial sponsorship from Nortel Networks, BCTel and CIBC. He is a past (2001-2005) Vice-President, University Research for University of Waterloo and a former Director of the Design Interpretive laboratory (comprising such functions as industrial design, ergonomics, consumer research, competitive analysis) in BNR (Nortel Networks) where he worked from 1979 to 1990.
