Dr. Leonardi is NRC Medical Device Coordinator responsible for the development and coordination of cross-Institute activities in support of NRC’s medical device research. His role is to develop and support external partner relationships by responding to the requests of medical device organizations (industry, academia, government). His in-depth knowledge of the Medical Device sector in Canada allows him to anticipate future medical device needs and opportunities. In addition, Dr Leonardi provides scientific and engineering support to Canadian based start-up companies aimed at commercializing medical device technologies. Prior to this position, Dr. Leonardi led a team that developed several optically based prototype instruments used clinically to examine compromised tissue.
