Deborah Martin-Downs, M.Sc., is the Director of the Ecology Division of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority in Toronto. In this capacity she is responsible for the team of technical specialists in the fields of geoenvironmental, watershed planning, natural heritage (biology, flora and fauna), water resources engineering, water flow and quality, sustainability (energy, development and technologies) and environmental monitoring. Deborah returned to the Authority after 16 years in environmental consulting where she undertook a variety of environmental assessments, land development evaluations and environmental restoration plans. She has a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo (1979) and a Master of Science in Zoology and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto (1985). She is a founding member of Green Infrastructure Ontario Coalition, a member of the Ontario Water Conservation Alliance and a Director of the Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement.
