Mr. Mason founded Hydroforming & Operations Expertise Group to provide support services for domestic companies in understanding and achieving the expectations of the Japanese OEMs. In addition, also provides support services in tube hydro form for the automotive business in the areas of product design, process planning, production launch and marketing.
Early in his career, he played a key role in the start-up of Vari-Form based on a new metal forming technology, Hydro form, for automotive body structures. As Senior Manager of Vari-Form, he led engineering teams that designed, built and commissioned multi-million dollar press lines in Canada, UK, and Japan.
Following Vari-Form, he spent seven years as Chief Engineer for one of Honda’s largest suppliers, F&P Manufacturing, subsidiary of F-tech Japan. During that time he introduced Hydro form to F-tech and Honda, bringing F-tech to the number 1 position with this technology in Japan, with new products on Accord and Civic globally.
Mr. Mason recently earned an MBA at Queens University, holds a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and has extensive tool making experience. This combination of expertise with a proven track record of commercialization provides an excellent basis to support companies in the hydro forming field, and those wishing to adopting Japanese based Operating Systems.
Mr. Mason has served on the Board of Directors of the Fabricators and Manufactures Association, based in Rockford Ill, and has accepted numerous invitations to speak at technical conferences in Europe, Japan and the USA.
