Tom Odell

Panelist: Is the Ontario Grid Plug-in-Ready for Electric Vehicles

 

Tom Odell has 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. Tom is the Technology Planning Manager within General Motors' Canadian Programs Group. He is responsible for forward planning of in-vehicle technologies for the Canadian market. Tom is also the Product Planning Manager for the 2012 Chevrolet Volt Electric Vehicle. This entails ensuring that Canadian product, service, and infrastructure requirements are comprehended ahead of the vehicle's successful launch.

Prior to Product Planning he served as Senior Electrical Engineer in GM Canada's Worldwide Facilities Group.  Tom was responsible for facilities electrical engineering in the Oshawa South Plant complex and providing facilities support for the Canadian division. Tom serves on several committees related to electric vehicles and in-vehicle technology including CSA, ISO, SAE and the CVMA.

Tom has a B.Sc. In Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, Queen's University, 1984.
