Dominic joined Trellis Capital in 2005 as Managing Partner. In this position he assumes an interim operational role in companies in which Trellis invests that require hands-on assistance. In addition, he pursues investment opportunities in the Advanced Technology sector that meet Trellis’ investment criteria.
Prior to joining Trellis, Dominic spent over four years with BDC Venture Capital focusing his time evaluating and investing in Advanced Technology companies and was Director on the Board of several high potential technology companies.
Previously, Dominic was General Manager of the Canadian Sales Operation for the Industrial Systems Business of the General Electric Company. In this role, he grew the business and expanded the division in the commercial and residential electrical equipment markets. During his nine-year tenure with GE, he also held various sales, marketing and finance positions in the U.S., Vancouver and Toronto.
Dominic is a Professional Engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering and Management from McMaster University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is currently CEO of Datec Coating Corporation, an early stage material technology company, and sits on the Boards of Directors of both TeraSpan and Sciemetric Instruments and is an observer on the Board of Sidense Corporation.
He has taught Venture Capital at the Michael de Groote School of Business, McMaster University and is a member of the Board of Advisors for McMaster’s Xerox Centre of Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
