IBM Canada |
Long before phrases like "carbon footprint" and "going green" became universally recognized, IBM saw the need to adopt an environmental code of practice. It's first corporate policy on environmental protection was issued in 1971. This early commitment has evolved and today IBM is leading by example in all its business activities - from day-to-day operations, to the design of products and use of technology. In 2008, Computerworld named IBM as the top Green IT company, and Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine for responsible business, ranked IBM the number one Corporate Citizen for Energy and Environmental leadership.
